Resistance
WHAT IS LOW RESISTANCE MEASUREMENT?
As the title suggests Low resistance measurement is exactly that, the measurement of small values of resistance, these are typically performed by using an Ohmmeter (an instrument developed to measure the resistance).
WHY MEASURE LOW RESISTANCE?
Low resistance measurement is performed for many reasons, including, but not limited to safety, performance and quality testing. Below we will look at a number of applications where low resistance measurement plays a vital function.
HOW DO WE MEASURE LOW RESISTANCE?
There are a number of methods that can be utilised but by far the best method of measurement for low resistance values below 100Ω is the 4 wire technique (also known as the Kelvin method).
